Amit Chatterjee is an internationally renowned and critically acclaimed musician, composer, producer and teacher.

Amit Chatterjee, an internationally reputed guitarist, sitarist, composer and vocalist, is known for his sensitive yet passionate approach in both his instrumental and vocal artistry, and bringing a certain "global" element to his unique compositions. From his extensive background as both a jazz-fusion guitarist and Indian sitarist, and having been deeply educated in both areas, he is able to seamlessly flow in and out of western and eastern approaches, and move towards a sound which is completely new, reflecting the atmosphere of today. After 11 years as the guitarist for jazz-fusion legend Joe Zawinulin his seminal band The Zawinul's Syndicate(as well as being a part of the keyboard master's symphonic recording “Stories of the Danube”and performances of the work with various symphonies), Amit continues his explorations in new territories of music in his ongoing solo projects as well as in collaborative works with different masters of the musical arts. He has also recorded and performed extensively as a guest artist with luminaries from multiple genres, such as David Liebman, Eric Johnson, Carlos Santana, Sting, Badal Roy, Pete Lockett, Trilok Gurtu, Nitin Sawhney, Vicki Richards, Robert Thomas Jr., Michael Wolff, Mike Clark and many others. He is also a guest soloist for the Netherlands Metropole Orchestra's continuing programme of Joe Zawinul Tribute, conducted by the eminent Vince Mendoza.

Amit's most recent releases include “My Dearest One,” featuring his own band, Amit Chatterjee Alliance, comprised of outstanding musicians from the European continent. In January of 2018, he produced, arranged and performed on “The Blind Side”- a groundbreaking recording of compositions by virtuoso classical pianist Dyanne Voegtlin Potter. On the recording were renowned bassist Lincoln Goines andRandy Crafton– percussionist extraordinaire and former collaborator with Glen Velez.

Amit Chatterjee has recorded as a guitarist, sitarist and vocalist on numerous films and television programs in the United States and abroad. Among them were several episodes of the American series Sex and the City, the PBS films Mother Theresa and the Great Indian Railroad.

Amit Chatterjee also has an extensive background in giving lecture demonstrations and workshops addressing his unique approach of finding the meeting points of Eastern and Western musics from their structure and root theory, and not just from the resultant sounds of the different musics. He has been a visiting faculty member of the Miami School of Music in the University of Miami, and is currently a member of the visiting faculty of the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance in London.
